This first-ever live webcast of a solar eclipse is a time capsule, both celestially and technologically. On February 26, 1998, a total solar eclipse darkened skies in a swath stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, across the Caribbean. An Exploratorium team traveled to the island of Aruba and broke international viewership records as thousands of people around the world watched their live webcast of the eclipse.
