Guillermo Galindo's artistic work sweeps across musical boundaries, flowing from symphonic compositions to performance art installations and beyond. For Resonance, Galindo and his ensemble will perform "Resonant Shadows/ Circular Calls" on instruments made from immigrants' personal belongings found along the border between Mexico and the United States. The artists' musical sculptures are made with abandoned clothing, animal bones, bullet casings, a truck tire, and small, evocative ephemera such as a toothbrush or comb. These objects and original scores form part of Border Cantos, an exhibition made in collaboration with celebrated photographer Richard Misrach, opening at the San Jose Museum of Art on February 25, 2016.
