Sea level rise is coming. One way to prepare for rising oceans in the future is to pay attention to the highest tides today: King Tides, which occur when the highest tides of the day coincide with the highest tides of the month and the highest tides of the season, around the winter and summer solstices. Citizen scientists can help researchers by documenting King Tides and how they interact with the land—where they flood or damage places that are normally above the water line.
