The Exploratorium is more than a museum—it’s a gateway to exploring science, art, and human perception with every visit. Let your curiosity roam through more than 600 interactive exhibits, many focused on noticing and observation, in six spacious indoor and outdoor galleries. You’ll find thoughtful safety protocols, our one-of-a-kind store, dining, and more at our beautiful San Francisco bayside location.

What can you expect?

Masks are required indoors.

Exhibits and all public spaces are disinfected frequently.

Handwashing and sanitizing stations are throughout the museum.

Please eat only in designated areas.

If you're not feeling well, call 415.528.4407 and we can assist you with your tickets.

The Tactile Dome is temporarily closed.

100% fresh air is filtered through our HVAC MERV 14 system.

Although the Exploratorium is following all required safety protocols and procedures, we recognize that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. You will be visiting at your own risk, and should use your judgment as to whether you are comfortable being in a public space. Some exhibits and other traditional Exploratorium offerings will be temporarily unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions.
