Swirling, shifting, ethereal fog is a defining characteristic of San Francisco’s environment and a subject of intrigue for meteorologists, writers, and artists. Join us for the West Coast premiere of Cinema Artist-in-Residence Sam Green’s Fog City. Created in collaboration with cinematographer Andy Black, the film offers a poetic view of a complex natural phenomenon that for months each year defines the Bay Area landscape, and is a meditative piece on the mystery and beauty of fog. Following in the tradition of his most recent works, Green presents Fog City as a “live documentary,” narrating and cuing the film live, while the New York–based band The Quavers shares the stage and performs an original score.
