Come to the Exploratorium October 30th to celebrate International Animation Day with amusing and inventive works from all around the world. Dice, graph paper, rolls of scotch tape, and even a couple of guys with crazy facial hair are fodder for stop-motion animation wizardry in the Pupf-Phew! program. Chicken eggs will dazzle you, a snarky dog will tickle your funny bone, and those pieces of cardboard that you put out for recycling . . . well, they’re alive! Curated by Sarah Klein and David Kwan of Stop & Go and Croatian Cultural Exchange in partnership with Jasminka Bijelić Ljubić of the School for Animated Film (ŠAF) in Čakovec, Croatia. Films include Pandora's Block (Abbey Luck and Sean Donnelly, USA, 2007), Papermation (Jen Stark, USA, 2005), Ankle Injuries (Yukfoo Studio, New Zealand, 2007), Eggs (Molly Schwartz, USA, 2005), Housecoat (Sarah Klein, USA, 2010), Dog Judo (Andrew Kelleher, United Kingdom, 2010), Black Cat (Students from ŠAF Studio, Croatia), Beard Toupée (Reed Anderson and Daniel Davidson, USA, 2006), Lone Star (Sarah Klein and David Kwan, USA, 2013), Tape Generations (Johan Rijpma, Netherlands, 2011), Cardboard (Sjors Vervoort, Netherlands, 2009).
