Fog Bridge #72494, an outdoor artwork by Fujiko Nakaya, pumps water, at high pressure, through more than 800 nozzles, shrouding visitors in fog and putting their perceptions at the center of the experience. It was the first installation in our Over the Water series, and is now permanently at the Exploratorium.

Fog Bridge was temporarily deactivated in 2014 in response to California's multi-year drought, but after being reconfigured to run on desalinated water from the Bay, it is again in regular operation.
