Included with museum admission.
In the summer of 1975, Bob Miller (1935–2007) started sharing his discoveries about images and sunlight with friends in a series of demonstrations known as Image Walk—then, later, as Light Walk. At the time, Bob was an artist building his now-iconic sun, prismatic, and reflection exhibits for the Exploratorium.
Bob’s Light Walks blended performance art and experimental, hands-on teaching. These demonstrations have been continually nourished by the observations, questions, and astonishment of visitors, teachers, and staff.
Join us as we carry on this tradition. Your guided journey will begin outside the museum with a single image of the Sun and will end inside with exhibits on images and shadows.
This program is in conjunction with the exhibition Light Walk: Bob Miller and the Exploratorium on view at the main branch of the San Francisco Public Library through February 5, 2015.
