The Exploratorium returns to Maker Faire on May 17–18 with a host of demonstrations and activities designed to galvanize your inner Frankenstein.
Eye the insides of dissected quail and carnivorous plants, and take apart speakers to see how they work. Join the Tinkering Studio crew to deconstruct singing and dancing toys, and then experiment with circuit boards to reanimate the parts in interesting ways.
Look for favorite Exploratorium exhibits, such as Pinbell and Animation Station, and play with exhibit design prototypes made by Stanford students. Get a charge out of demonstrations by veteran Exploratorium educators, and head to the Meeting Pavilion’s Center Stage at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday to hear Tinkering Studio co-directors Karen Wilkinson and Mike Petrich discuss The Art of Tinkering.
You can browse The Art of Tinkering and other tinkering-related products at our pop-up Exploratorium Store—including a brand-new, limited edition Tinkering Studio T-shirt (available only at the Faire).
