All Ages

Have you ever wanted to explore a science museum at night—without the crowds? Join us Friday, April 13 when our Daytime and After Dark members have the Exploratorium all to themselves, including the exclusive opportunity to play with exhibit prototypes and talk with our Exhibit Development Staff.

See how some of our outdoor exhibits sparkle at night, such as Buckeyball, a towering 25-foot illuminated sculpture that radiates in full spectrum. Our world-famous Tactile Dome will also be open, so prepare to work as a team as you navigate the Dome’s pitch-black chambers and mazes.

Please note that Seaglass Restaurant and the Seismic Joint Café will be closed during these hours. We invite you to bring outside food to enjoy.

Open Shop Hours: Exhibit Prototyping for Members
6–8 p.m.
Meet in front of the Frances Hellman and Warren Breslau Exhibit Development Shop

Play with our new energy exhibit prototypes! Daytime and After Dark members, join us for special members-only hours in the Shop and chat with our Exhibit Development staff about current works in progress before they hit the exhibit floor. Drop in any time between 6 and 8 p.m. Our staff will meet you in front of the Exhibit Development Shop, near the Tinkering Studio.
