Race and Inclusion in Science Learning
Free Educator Evening

This event is sold out.

Educators, join us for an evening of learning and conversation about multicultural science communication with a world-renowned scholar, and the opportunity to win a signed copy of her influential book!

Visiting Osher Fellow Dr. Elizabeth Rasekoala is President of African Gong, The Pan-African Network for the Popularization of Science & Technology and Science Communication, which aims to advance scientific understanding, outreach, and literacy on the African continent.

Her book, Race and Sociocultural Inclusion in Science Communication, brings together global perspectives on advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity in STEM education and science communication. The book has received special recognition from the CIMUSET Award Committee.

Elizabeth is also the 2019 recipient of the International NAT AWARD for Science Communication, conferred by the Natural Science Museum of Barcelona. She is ambitious in seeking to harness mutual learning, equity, and decolonization approaches across the Global North-South divide. This will encourage science communicators across these regions to work together to deliver a transformed, inclusive science communication landscape, one that fully embraces globally inclusive knowledge paradigms and diverse knowledge-sharing practices that engender public trust in science.

Don’t miss this chance to engage with a pioneer in the field!
