Strandbeests move with an animal stride that belies their mechanical nature. And yet it’s their linkages that fascinate, lifting and extending each leg with a mesmerizing grace. Explore the poetry of mechanical motion with a series of cinematic portraits capturing the inner workings of various automated machines, from industrial glass bottle-makers to whimsical kinetic sculptures.
