Join us on the web or in person for a live chat with scientists and educators on board the Exploration Vessel Nautilus as it uses an ROV (remotely-operated vehicle) to explore the ocean floor just offshore from the Bay Area.
The Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, covering some 3,300 square miles of ocean, contains and protects ecosystems from the deep sea floor to open ocean and rocky intertidal and beach communities and more than 400 shipwrecks. In this webcast we’ll be speaking with scientists from NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary as they explore deep sea coral reefs that serve as sentinel sites for tracking the impacts of environmental change in the oceans.
