Craig Silverstein is the dean of infrastructure at Khan Academy, where he focuses on the growth and stability of the Khan Academy learning platform. Before that, he was director of technology at Google, where he was the first employee hired by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. He was responsible for projects such as the Google Webserver and Google's early internationalization efforts, and was instrumental in creating the core search infrastructure that built Google into one of the world's leading tech companies.
Craig has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Harvard University and a master's degree in computer science from Stanford. He dropped out of the Stanford PhD program to help start Google, but has promised his parents he'll go back and finish one day.
