The Exploratorium opened at its new home on Pier 15 in San Francisco on April 17, 2013, after almost 44 years inside the Palace of Fine Arts. It has influenced generations of entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, teachers, students, children and museum professionals since 1969. Dedicated to educational reform in and outside of the classroom, the Exploratorium is changing the way the world learns.
The Exploratorium stands in the vanguard of the movement of the “museum as educational center.” It provides access to, and information about, science, nature, art and technology.
Since 1969, the Exploratorium has set the standard for hands-on, inquiry-based education.
An interdisciplinary panel shares approaches to climate change adaptation and engagement.
