High School Explainer: PACE

Program Overview
The High School Explainer: PACE Program (Professional Advancement & Career Exposure) is designed to provide young people between the ages of 17-21 with supplemental museum work experience in areas such as Exhibit Maintenance, Public Programs, Cinema Arts, Bio Lab, and Explainer Program Administration. Explainers are exposed to a variety of museum disciplines while supporting the High School Explainer program in its core mission of providing an interactive social environment rich in both science and the arts in which students can explore phenomena, learn about themselves, and provide the museum with an informed and energetic floor staff.
Become a High School Explainer: PACE Program participant
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 21. Must be able to obtain a valid work permit. Must be able to attend all basic training dates. Must be able to work the entirety of the school year or summer session. A background in science is not required. Previous employment as a High School Explainer is not required.
How to Apply
Applications for the schoolyear High School Explainer: PACE program are typically available in July. Applications for the summer High School Explainer:PACE program are typically available in March. When the application is open, you will find it on the Exploratorium's Current Openings page under the job title "High School Explainer: PACE."
