Snoqualamie Falls outside of Seattle has active hydroelectric power generation stations. Old rusty sections of pipe had been arranged at the lower falls. They were very inviting, and I helped myself to a stick from the woods to hit them with (naturally). The sign only said 'no climbing'.

Found this picture of a young woman and her mother using Pedal Generator at LIZ right after Steve and I finished install. She had a power cord and dying phone. It worked right on cue! She said to her mom, 'I wish these things were everywhere'.

Thursday October 23rd, 2014 marked a unique opportunity to view our host star, the Sun. Starting in the early San Francisco afternoon, our only natural satellite, the Moon, passed in front of the disc of the Sun resulting in a partial solar eclipse.
