We're doing it again--creating a viewing party for our Total Solar Eclipse: Live from Micronesia webcast in Second Life! In 2006 and 2008 we streamed a total solar eclipse webcast live into Second Life, a 3D virtual world community, and invited avatars from all over the world to join us there to enjoy the webcast together and to explore a set of interactive exhibits about solar eclipses.
On Tuesday March 8, 2006 from 4:00 PM till 7:30 PM SLT (Second Life Time), join in for the experience on Exploratorium Island sim. Solar eclipse exhibits are up and ready for you to play with now. We'll gather in the theater beginning at 4:00 PM and watch telescopic images of the sun and the unfolding drama of the eclipse with our webcast hosts on Woleai in Micronesia.
Click here or the image below to open Second Life and teleport now to Exploratorium Island. You'll need to download and install the Second Life Viewer and create a free Second Life account in order to access it.

Avatars gather in the amphitheater on Exploratorium Island in Second Life to watch the 2006 total solar eclipse live webcast.
