The Exploratorium and Google Making & Science joined forces to develop Science Journal—a free educational app that transforms your smartphone into a pocket-sized laboratory. The app lets you gather data from the world around you through your phone’s built-in sensors. Users can record data over time, store and analyze data graphically, and log questions and ideas that come up along the way.

Working as thinking partners with Google’s team, the Exploratorium developed a suite of educational activities, helped shape the format and features of the app and its website, and offered professional development around inquiry-based learning.
