Mid-America Science Museum
Enlivening a beloved museum with new exhibits and artwork.
How does a museum reinvent itself with cutting-edge, hands-on experiences while honoring its 35-year legacy and maintaining a sense of place for loyal visitors? The Mid-America Science Museum (MASM) engaged the Exploratorium to find the answer.
Based on MASM’s goals and target audiences, Global Collaborations crafted experiences that stimulate curiosity, encourage play, foster critical thinking and a sense of wonder, and expand learning opportunities for teachers and schools. This collaboration produced 5 new galleries and nearly 80 exhibits developed, fabricated, and installed by the Exploratorium, offering visitors fresh, robust connections between science and their everyday lives in a fascinating regional context.
