As part of our month long exploration of toys, we are thrilled to be hosting the work of an amazing artist who makes use of one of our favorite building materials. Nathan Sawaya creates inspiring sculptures made up entirely out of LEGO bricks. His iconic piece, Yellow, will be on display in the Tinkering Studio until January 26th.
It's great to have a piece of art in our space that utilizes a familiar material in an innovative and creative manner and can serve as inspiration to visitors messing around with making toys. Nathan and Yellow will be highlighted at the Open:MAKE event this Saturday. At 1:00 he will be interviewed with other featured makers by Make Magazine founder Dale Dougherty.
