McLaren Park is the second largest park in San Francisco (after Golden Gate Park) and was designed by Daniel Burnham in 1905, the year before he started developing the master plan for Chicago. In 2008, two Exploratorium Artists, Peter Richards and Susan Schwartzenberg, designed Philosopher's Way, a beautiful 3-mile walk around the park with provocative "Musing Stations" at interesting stopping points.
