Visible light inspires us across cultures, reveals nature’s beauty, and contains clues to the history of space and time. Join us for the final After Dark before the lights dim on Glow—a collection of ten luminous sculptures big and small inviting you to connect to, reflect on, and interact with light. Glow features artworks by Michael Brown, CHiKA, Nick Dong, Alicia Eggert, Ekene Ijeoma, Luke Jerram, Burt Libe, and Ames Palms.

Get ready to dance your way through the night as a DJ from Hip Hop for Change sets the vibe and keeps the party moving all night! DJ Mark Maiden of the Rockit City DJs, is a veteran DJ from the Bay Area specializing in hip-hop, rare grooves, funky soul, (past, current, and future joints).

Hip Hop for Change is an Oakland-based nonprofit that uses grassroots activism to educate people about socioeconomic injustices and advocate solutions through hip-hop culture.

 


Food and drinks will be available to purchase in our Seaglass Restaurant and at the outdoor bar in Gallery 5 to enjoy in those designated spaces during After Dark. Please note that there is no drinking or eating allowed elsewhere in the museum at this time.
