Field of View: Mapping Emerging Media Technologies

Thursday, September 14–Sunday, October 22, 2017

Note: Some experiences in this series have limited capacity; seating will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We live in an era of booming interest in new media technologies, and the possibilities and powers of these new tools in the hands of creative thinkers appear limitless. Driven by the enthusiasm of a deeply engaged community of creators, researchers, and developers, emerging media technologies are undergoing rich experimentation. From virtual reality (VR) explorations that may redefine social research or offer more intimate forms of storytelling to immersive environments that translate live neurological data into encompassing art experiences, these technologies are reaching into unexpected realms. The result is a compelling convergence of art, science and technology. In this series, we’ll explore emerging media technologies at this key moment by showcasing cutting-edge work using a wide spectrum of methods and reflect on the places we’ve yet to go.

Are you planning to come to more than one of the programs in this series?
