From expanding sea otter habitat to protecting whales from sonar to regulating sardine fisheries, environmental laws have the power to help us protect ocean ecosystems from habitat fragmentation, pollution, and overfishing.

Join us for a lunchtime presentation by two lawyers from the public interest legal organization Earthjustice. We’ll explore significant legal cases about the California coast and how these fit into national and global strategies to combat the effects of climate change.

This event is co-presented by the Earthjustice Evergreen Council and the Exploratorium’s Oppenheimer Circle.

About the Speakers

Drew Caputo is Vice President of Litigation for Lands, Wildlife, and Oceans, leading Earthjustice’s litigation to protect the nation’s public lands, wild places, irreplaceable species, and ocean fisheries and habitats.
