Adults Only (18+)
In honor of Pride month, join us in celebrating LGBTQ+ heritage and culture. Tonight, we’ll hear from artists, historians, and thinkers whose work centers self-affirmation, freedom of expression, and the essential need for representation.
Program features:
Join singer, song-writer, and teaching artist Eli Conley as he shares ways that people—in particular the trans community—can use their voices and offers vocal exercises for you to join in on. Then listen in as he shares one of his original songs.
Get ready to move with Jocquesé “Sir JoQ” Whitfield, founder of Vogue and Tone and pillar of the Bay Area voguing community. In a conversation with Exploratorium STARS intern Kayla Walker, Sir JoQ shares a bit about the history of voguing and his personal connection to the form—and invites us to vogue along in a demo.
Check out short films from Alex Bohs and KQED’s If Cities Could Dance series.
After Dark Online: Pride at the Exploratorium is made possible with the generous support of General Motors.
